I wish these network would get rid of in-game tickers and other on screen stuff

It along with everything else just junks up the picture.

Look at MNF....they take the scroller off the bottom of the screen and the picture looks bigger and better. Like you're getting all of the picture on your TV screen that you should be getting.

But now for most games, you got the ticker scrolling on bottom, te scoreboard at the top, the 1st down marker, the LOS marker, some stupid CGI advertisement.

I wish we could go back to the days of tickers being periodical. Hell everyone has a smart phone for the most part, you can find a score faster on your phone than waiting for it to come aroudn again on the ticker.

There was a temporary thing Fox Sports West was doing for Laker games called "Courtside" where they had a camera at court side. No commentary, I think they may have had the score overlay that was it but it was really clean. All you heard was the players and the crowd and a huge clean picture.

I remember a Mets game last years when they were having technical difficulties so no overlays or pop up ads during the game, it was refreshing to just watch a sporting event and not be bombarded with crap.

But he's not talking about just a ticker. He's talking about the ticker plus the excess that's all over the screen.
