I noticed that shyt recently too. I don't know what the deal is but I can download 700mb of MP4 and AVI

When I copy them from my PC to PS3 via PS3 Media Server.

The MP4 looks crisp while the AVI looks like shyt. Sometimes the MP4 becomes a bigger file when I copy it over. Transforming into a gig or more in size.

I don't know why it happens for me. When I bring them over it seems like the server is doing some encoding while copying.

Usually happens with anime episodes in mkv and mp4 format. Never WMV or AVI.

Not hard to understand...the MP4 one probably has more bitrate and is definitely using the x264 codec while the Xvid one is likely what the AVI one is comprised of. AAC audio>MP3 audio too....
