After watching the show, and seeing a bad pawg read Game of Thrones on the subway in NYC, I think it is time I read them :noah:

I hope they are kind of different from the tv show because I already saw both seasons. :wow2: :wow:

Also -- should I catch up on The Walking Dead comics (compendium vol. 2 and the spin off novels) before I start these books?

No question about it breh. You can get thru all 3 before season 3 even starts. Besides...I'm almost done with the 3rd book and that shyts the greatest fantasy book I've read. I don't see how any other GoT books n the future can come close to that piff

5 books....

A Game Of Thrones
A Clash Of Kings
A Storm Of Swords
A Feast For Crows
A Dance With Dragons

in that order.

none of the books suck...book 4 being the slowest read i would say...but book 3 is so OMG good....best series of books i've ever read

book 2 is the most diffrent from the tv show while book 1 is the closest to a page for page adaptation. they altered a lot of things in season 2 and changed some storylines but they still telling the same story, like some characters you'll see in book 2 wont appear till season 3 of the show or parts of book 3 appear in the second season. I learned to separate the two so i enjoy both and not on some hating ass book purist shyt.

but like most people would say, its the greatest fantasy books every put out. when i first saw that all the books are 700 pages plus with book 3 and 5 being around 1500-1700 each i was like :whew:...but you get so into it you cant stop turning the pages and before you know it you breeze right thru all of them. so far ive read the entire series twice, right now im on my third read-thru at the end of book 5 and im still catching/realizing shyt i didnt notice in my first two read-thrus

as far as which books are the best heres my order

1.A Storm of Swords (everyones favorite, cant wait for season 3 :to:)
2.A Game of Thrones
3.A Clash of Kings
4.A Feast for Crows
5.A dance with dragons

oh okay...then what are the white walkers?

Not much is known about them. Just a conscious, more powerful version of wights that carry long ice swords. If you gonna read the books, don't expect to see them a lot. They are in the backdrop.

They speak on both depending on the context. But no one has seen a white walker in like 8000 yrs, so when they talk about white walkers its mostly like when we talk about ghosts etc.
