They see me trolling, they hating.....
Maybe its just the 90s east coast hiphop head inside of me (hiphop will NEVER be able to recapture the 90s...Just like Soul music with never be able to recapture the 60s/70s) but I could care less about epic sounding beats, melodies and catchy hooks.

I just want some simple gutta shyt that helps put emphasis on Nas's profound lyrics, not something that drowns it out.

Anyone with me here?

A 13 track LP with Loco Motive type tracks would probably knock Illmatic off the throne as Nas's best album in my eyes

still my favorite song on the album. he drops at least one gem like this on every damn album he's dropped since illmatic. he can drop another illmatic type of album if he really wants at any given day. he just teases us with songs like that to let us know it's easy for him. i agree with op. i bang this song daily.

as dope as the song is. if you get that, then you're asking for a 90's hiphop album. now you are officially a "STUCK IN THE 90's n...."

see i like the song for what it is. a nice throwback joint to prove a point. and nothing more. i dont need nas over old school 90 ish tracks. i can just find an old 90's nas joint if thats what i want to vibe to today.

and for the record. they stole my song. i put it on sohh a long time ago. using that hiphop is dead song where its an acappella. i had the subway in the background the entire song. and people called me crazy for it. now its hot. LOL at the late bus people.
just in case you think i was lying.

Its interesting when you see an artists potential in one particular lane , and think why don't they run with that style for a whole project ...

I agree it would be good .

However . For their own benefit the artist usually has to show diversity on a record to please the label, as well as broaden their audience.

yup. dude said i was a nas hater because i wasn't feeling life is good except for locomotive. that's the nas that i like to hear, and that's the nas that flourishes on the mic. when he's on that other shyt, he sounds off beat.

U askin for a boom bap nasty nas album. I cant complain about that. I love LIG. It would be ill if he just get them gritty as beats and just destroy shyt. Tracks like no intro, locomotive, queens story, nasty, accident murder, the black bond, and the don woulda been in that lane almost. No love songs, no deep shyt, no preachy shyt, and no emotional shyt. Just verses that sound like freestyle sessions. Thats the same way I feel about em. All his freestyles be piff. Especially the cipher joint. If he get the write producers and just flow like that no emo shyt dude will be shady again. Same wit joey.
