he came back somethin' fierce with this movie. he owned that role and that movie. but then after that i feel like he didn't really do much else other then ironman 2. but besides that everythin' else been straight to dvd "is this really a film" type of movies :why:

it's a shame because before mickey fell out with the industry and went back to boxin', he was one of the most talented actors around with a handful of good to great movies he starred in with rumble fish, diner, barfly, angel heart, homeboy, year of the dragon, and the pope of greenwich village

the talent is still there, he just needs another great movie to showcase it

His Inside the Actor's Studio is a good watch, probably still on youtube.

And while he didn't didn't have a lead part in the movie I loved his monologue from The Expendables:

His face is fukked though, maybe limiting his roles?

But he seems to have problems anyway, hopefully he can comeback properly one day.

yeah but there are ways of around workin' with his face. prosthetic makeup, maybe? hollywood got their ways of makin' shyt like that work

mickey rourke is just one of those guys that marches to the beat of his drum. but i think givin' what he said in those interviews i posted above, he's changed from his 90's era. he knows what it's like to not have work and get caught up in the struggle of not little to nothin'

I just looked up his IMDb, and I see what you're saying...

maybe he just wants to work and doesn't really care if it's a big budget film or not.
last known movie he had was "Immortals" and he's gonna be in the new Sin City movie.

yeah, i think he might just want the money just to help make sure he's got some for a rainy day. plus, i wonder how many great scripts really come his way. mickey rourke is an actor's actor and he seems like the type who's very particular about the roles and scripts he gets. like he said in that one interview i posted, he didn't have an problems so long as he was workin' with a director like francis ford coppola because someone like that was always on point and he knew how to work and get along with him.

mickey still got the talent, he just needs the movies and roles to show it. i think the independent thing is cool so long as the movie or film is good or great. anne hathaway did a fantastic job in rachel's getting married and that was an independent, a lot better than many big budget films.

hopefully he shines in the new sin city movie. his marv character in the first 1 was the shyt :wow:
