I'm not trying to knock Megatron he's a beast. But he's definitely benefitting from being down 20+ points late in games in addition to Stafford throwing 50 times a game. Jerry would absolutely have multiple 2000 yd seasons in the league today.

It took Rice 122 receptions to get 1848 yards.

Calvin Johnson has 117 and 1892.

So unless the pass happy league means higher YPC across the board (it might I don't feel like looking it up) this isn't true.

The NFL has always been a "passing league". Ever since the big rule changes if 77-78. Numbers are based on teams throwing it WAY more today then anything. For example Stafford has thrown the ball 630 times this season with 2 games left(663 last year)

Montana at best had 520 in a season

Marino at best had 623 in a season(564 in his 84' season) etc
