Crysis 3 On Wii U Had To Die, Says Crytek CEO
in other words Crytek had Crysis 3 up and running on the Wii U and was ready to put it out and EA stepped in and killed it. the speculated reason why EA killed it is EA wanted Nintendo to let them run Origin on the Wii U. i'm sure everyone knows the evil that Origin is and what it represents. so in a nutshell EA tried to bully Nintendo into letting them set up their DRM on the Wii U and Nintendo refused and EA started shytting on them as a result.

basically out of the big 3 Nintendo was the only one that stood up to EA and we see where it got them so when you mock Nintendo for not having Madden and Battlefield indirectly you support EA's obvious plan to turn console gaming into a system like PC gaming where they hand you a activation serial code for Origin and your disc becomes a coaster with zero resell value.
GamesBeat managed to grab a quote from Crytek's CEO, Cevat Yerli, who mentioned that...
"We did have Crysis 3 running on the Wii U. We were very close to launching it,"..."But there was a lack of business support between Nintendo and EA on that. Since we as a company couldn't launch on the Wii U ourselves - we don't have a publishing license - Crysis 3 on Wii U had to die."
Now, word around the block was that the relationship between EA and Nintendo dwindled over Origin

notice this happens right at the end of the current generation and the first next generation system (Wii U) that refuses to allow EA to run Origin on it is suddenly absent all EA games with no more in development even though its known Crysis 3 (which was published by EA) was pretty much done and ready to go for the platform. btw you don't need an Online pass if you have to activate your games with a serial number on EA's Origin.“Yes, we’re discontinuing Online Pass,” EA senior director of corporate communications John Reseburg confirmed to GamesBeat in an e-mail. “None of our new EA titles will include that feature.”
