I need a history lesson, what happened to the apartheid leadership when Mandela took control?

were they killed or did they run away?

From what I know Mandela ended institutionalized racism in South Africa but little changed after that.

The ghettos over there are still horrible today and it's still difficult in that country for blacks to achieve wealth and prosperity.

De Klerk and a few other National Party members severed for a time in a cabinet of national unity with Mandela and the ANC but outside of a few security agents of the Apartheid state it appears that relatively few of the Apartheid government were ever punished.

Nothing, he let em live because black people are soft and had he been jewish, he'd have had the Mossad hunt them, and their families down.

He didn't want to isolate South Africa (see Zimbabwe) from the international community, because we know who still runs things. This is why we need another super power in the world, because having one causes shyt like this to happen. Present day, had he been coming into power, he could have sold his country's resources to China and been alright.

From what I heard, Nelson Mandela was organizing to overthrow the apartheid regime however, before he was successful in doing so the South African authorities arrested him which caused the movement to die.

For the life of me, I can't understand how you can allow outsiders to invade your country with the intentions of reducing the indigenous inhabitants to a second class status.

If that's not a declaration of war then I don't know what is.

Nelson Mandela took the passive way out instead of showing the South Africans how to deal with evil white invaders who had evil intentions.

what Nelson Mandela did was set a bad president for other European countries who may consider trying to colonize different African countries in the future.

Give me freedom or give me death.

i always wondered why they werent slaughtered like the people in Zimbabwe

i think being in jail humbled him and all he wanted was a peaceful solution if he could get it that way

When you're standing up for something because you're against certain actions and policies, and then for you to get power and do the same thing you were rebelling against, it legitimizes the very actions you sought to break away from.

If you hold onto a belief that says "this is bad, no one should do this" it is MUCH different than the belief "this is bad because I am the victim of this, but it is acceptable if I'm not the victim" .
