I listened to the Curtis album again, 50 and Interscope through everything at the wall here and 50 was just doing too much ..

They tried to to release like 12 singles and the only thing redeemable was the Tony Yayo track to close the album and maybe the 50 Cent throwaway Curtis 187

He had a single on there with all of the contemporary voices of the time Akon who laces 50 with what is probably the worst chorus in his entire catalog, Justin Timberlake and 50 debuting AI technology themes before they were there ensuring the elites likely already had access to it and used it to come up with this bullshyt and Robin Thicke who was apparently a singer when he wasn't moonlighting as Dane Cook. Listeners had to endure those 3 gems before getting the Candy Shop reboot Amusement Park

with this one they were like please oh please Timbaland and Justin just let us have a taste of that bringing sexy back energy

Straight To the Bank got bad reception from it's Myspace release. Got battery in back from Vitamin Water deal hit the mulligan and came back with I Get Money. That worked due to the energy and production of the track but both songs could of came off the same notepad

You got the worst and most throwaway Dr. Dre "feature" ever. It's like they took Dr. Dre off a soundboard and put him on any random production

He let the p*ssycat Doll girl destroy a song from the first note where she's just like Fiiiiiyahhhhhh and I'm like skip

He has the Mary J Blige feature

also Yayo's verse was the verse of the album

Agreed.

BSID is low key dope though lol, I still play random joints from that frequently but by that time he lost his underdog status and good will with the people and the label.

quite possibly one of the worst examples of "art" ever made

basically this is one of the greatest textbook examples of "when big budget goes wrong"

Ayyo, I'm higher than a pilot man
I catch a body man
Beat the case and lie on the polygram

YouTube even has this as the most relistened to portion of the song

Before I Self Destruct was a great album, and it seemed like 50 was picking up the piece and putting them back together.

I don't know what happened to 50 cent with this album.

It's like he just ran out of material. He was so hot but instead of dropping his 2nd album he dropped G-unit, then gave material to Game for his album, singles to Banks, Buck and Yayo and then by the time he got to album number 3 it was like he didn't have anything left.

Amusement Park was terrible and I thought Straight to the Bank wasn't good either.........I actually revisited Straight to the Bank about 2 months ago and it doesn't sound as bad to me as it did when it dropped in 2007. It's clearly not a hit.

I Get Money saved him.

A good songwriter could make I Get Money with the lines they had left over from Straight to the Bank

Its not as good as the music he made before but its listenable. Its very obvious that 50 is being lazy, recycling song ideas and formulas.

Ayo Tech, Movin On Up, Curtis 187 are the tracks I come back to the most.

Curtis album --> interscope and gay painting camel were blackballing him, he was unmotivated to make music and had 0 budget for it.

This is why I say his mixtapes are better. Even some of his loose songs. These songs are better than majority of his two albums after Get Rich.
