It feels kinda like if you were to hold your face out and let a 12 year old run at you fullspeed with a chopstick.

I don't normally fence (even though I swashbuckle all the time) and we weren't really going hard cause we were inside the house.
We should of at least used the helmets even though we didn't go get the padding either. But it was supposed to be all body... so it was an accident.

Fencing swords are pretty tame. Being sliced is a thousand times worst.
I hate fencing.

Martial Arts has always included weaponry.
Regardless of training style (judo, jiu-jitsu, aikido, etc...) if you don't have a weapon you are just doing karate.
Thats not a diss either. Karate means empty hand.

Swashbuckling uses slashing/slicing swords. Fencing uses piercing/thrusting swords.

These are swashbuckling swords. Knights, ninjas, pirates, samurai all swashbuckled. Only french weirdos used to poke with the tip of the sword.

It is pretty fun, I will grant you that. Thats why we were doing it. We weren't really training. Its a running joke with some of my friends that if something small happens and they respond "You've besmirched me" we take it to the fencing swords and mock duel, since we never use them seriously, unlike the nodachis and rapiers and other swords which we actually train with.
