If they hit you and it wasn't your fault, don't contact your Insurance company on the phone line, only contact your agent for advice. Try to get everything put on a claim on their insurance. Will keep it off your insurance record and won't affect your rates.
May be different though if it is a company vehicle...have to contact your manager, HR, etc...worker's comp.

That is why if you can file a claim with their insurance company (not yours) and they admit fault, it is an open and shut case and your insurance company never knows about it.
Also, a lot of times if you have a recorded accident with your insurance company but it is not your fault, your insurance isn't guaranteed to go up. They could, but usually only if you have other claims, accidents, tickets, etc...and they view it as a pattern.
