I honestly think Anthony Davis is the best player in the NBA.

Give me some convincing reasons as to how he's not and I might change my view.

But until then :manny:

AD is a problem. His time is coming, could be this upcoming year if he can stay on the court and sharpen that defensive IQ. Adding something in his arsenal to punish smaller defenders would be great too. Real close to putting it all together.

In a few years most likely but I think KD will be better than him.

He still hasn't proven he can carry a team to championship contention as the primary scorer, which is probably the most important aspect of a great player

Nah brother, not for big men. He just needs to prove he can carry a team to championship contention while a lockdown anchor that shuts down opposing offenses.

But aside from that, last year he averaged 25 PPG a game and then in the playoffs 31.5 PPG with a better field goal percentage. He just needs more plays run for him, which is part of the reason Alvin was hired.

When is the last time a true PF the best player in the game? Don't know if Tim ever was. Honestly can't think of one :lupe:

The fact that his team blew that 20 point lead in the fourth quarter of the playoffs last season and he came up pretty small in the clutch lets me know he's not the best player in the league RIGHT NOW. I, like others, expect for him to eventually get there, possibly as soon as 2017 (fully expect a couple of more years as LeBron as the best) but if we're going to call him the best we've gotta criticize him as though he's the best. :yeshrug: He probably has the most unique/productive skill set in the league, but I'm always more partial to guys who can go out and get you 40 in the big game. I look at Davis as this generation's Kevin Garnett, who I thought was the best "all around" player for years but I always had Shaq, Duncan, or Kobe ahead of him

Tim Duncan has always been a center to me and therefore the answer is never. Maybe Bob Pettit?

Why is this always thrown out? Who has completely carried a team to a title in the past 30 years? He just needs the pieces around to do it and right now he doesn't. Put him with a Kyrie or Lebron and they winning titles
