I'm done with Verizon. The LTE speeds are fast because no one is on it right now. It's nice to have but I can't use it all day because I have a 4gb plan. It was 2gb until I got the promo. Verizon dikked me on my employee discount. I'm always on 3g because LTE eats my galaxy nexus battery life. Verizon blocked Google wallet and added their bloatware to the nexus. Verizon took 6 months to push out a radio fix bug update. shyt is unacceptable. Sprint before that raised my bill by 10$ for a smart phone fee. They both delay updates. Google had enough like me. I hate dealing with these fukks. Straight talk is my move or T-Mobile prepaid. I paid $300 for the 32 gb nexus smh. Never again

HSPA+ is fast enough for me. I did a speed test with my dude who is on AT&T with a one x and his phone was faster.

So what is my best option? I should mention I am grandfathered on unlimited but that means paying $500+ everytime I want a phone.

How dies the whole unlocked phone thing work? Buy a phone and slide in a SIM card? Does t-mobile even offer true unlimited with no throttling?

Carriers want people on capped data plans. So you have to buy the phone out right to keep your plan. Verizon have good coverage but it's starting to get costly when you think about it. The way unlock work is u can buy the nexus 4 from Google play store and use straight talk sim with it. This is what everybody did with the GSM galaxy nexus. Didn't hear of any issues. Unlimited data is a scam on all carriers. Straight talk is no different they throttle you. However it's unlimited everything for $45. They have a tmobile and a AT&T sim card. So u try them out. No contracts. Fast updates from Google. In 2 years all major carriers will end subsidize phones. Google is ahead of its time. Yes T-Mobile has a true unlimited plan check out the HsPA+ vs LTE for more detail. The nexus 4 is 42 mbps compatible

The nexus 4 is only going to be $300 and it comes out next month. Unlimited 4g for TMobile and no throttling.

Dudes need to wake up. getting a phone off contract has been the way to go for at least 2 years now. Simple Mobile or straight talk is the way to go.

I am dying to get off Verizon. I kick myself signing a 2 yr contract. I think Google will provide phone service soon since they are testing out the cable industry. No more contracts. 95$ for my nexus because it has LTE. While straight talk is 45$ unlimited

So I shouldn't actually sign a t-mobile contract? I was going to get the galaxy nexus but didn't because I want pure Google to be pure Google and it isn't on the vow nexus. I am rocking the s3 but my next phone will be a nexus and it looks like Google isn't going to be servicing vow like that.

So if I sign with t-mobile I can cop off plastered every year, switch Sims, and sell the old phone?

Why sign a contract when the flagship google phone is going to be $300 out of contract?

Get off the contract idea

Buy the phone from Google. T-Mobile have the same phone. Im saying T-Mobile have prepaid plans that work with the Google store nexus. Also there is straight talk. Don't sign no more contracts

I am on VZW and looking to move as well. Anybody have Simple Mobile and how it's worked for them? Unlimited text, talk, data and 4g apparently.

I tried them and they are alright but be careful with the data. They will throttle you after 2 gigs and if you get too high they may cut off your service.
