I'm black. I swear :whoa:

The show is okay, but nothing crazy :manny:

Could never stand Martin the character though. Overacted every single thing to the point where it was annoying and everything he did and was just always overly OD all the damn time :why:

It's like never being immersed into the show because you're so focused on one person who sticks out because they're doing wayyyyy too much :martin:

any y'all wit me?

the only time i felt like martin was doing too much was when he would cry/fake cry

Like when he is ā€œcryingā€ in the episode where he is dreaming about pam and cries trying to tell gina

this show was probably the only show where the ā€œover the topā€ acting or ā€œloudā€ acting is hilarious to me

other than that yeah you trippin

1st season was good
but 2-4 were S Tier sitcom
the side characters were funny (Cole prolly a top 3 sidekick)
the running gags were hilarious (bruhman, tommy not having a job, cole love for big shirley)

you really got a negworthy thread but iā€™ll rep for being honest:obama:

Blasphemy! Martinā€™s a classic.

But I never got into the Black sitcoms on the WB. Jamie Foxx Show and Wayans Brothers.

@Dont@Me how old are you? I've mentioned this exact sentiment on the coli before. I always preferred Fresh Prince, Steve Harvey Show, Wayans Bros over Martin. Matter of fact, I wasn't a huge fan of my wife and kids but I'd probably take that over Martin too.

I mention age because I think it might've just been a "you had to be there thing" but if you weren't old enough to understand then, by the time you are old enough to go back and"get it" sht just don't hit the same. I'm 33. As a kid watching Steve Harvey and fresh price run around highschool was much easier to enjoy than grown man Martin doing grown man sht making fun of adult situations.

Nah, itā€™s your taste.

My little sister is your age and loves Martin.

I agree because I grew up with homies that loved that sht too, but on average I assumed people older than me would enjoy it more than people younger than me for the same reasons I mentioned.

Itā€™s just tastes

I get why someone wouldnā€™t like it, but it is one of the funniest sitcoms ever. The stuff regarding the overacting is what made the show great, imo.

If i have a critique, itā€™s ridiculously low budget.

Prime example of Martin overacting and not being funny:

I'm not much older than you. I see your theory though. I think it's just the quality of the main character that makes me dislike the show. Will smith in fresh Prince > Martin in Martin :yeshrug:
