....and I'm moreso looking at the wrestlers on the mat, but I guess sometimes when the refs knees/or body hit the mat it sounds like a count. So then his 1 count(with his palm) audibly sounds like the 2, and the 2 count would be the 3.

Am I crazy? Lol Or does anyone else hear this sometimes?

Just look at a wrestler's eyes and you know they are kicking out if they are looking at the ref.

That always bugs me.

Lol. I swear I've only started noticing that in recent years.

Maybe it's bc it wasn't as clear in the pre-HD era.

Actually, I did used to notice it with the Rock, bc he has big eyes so it was easy to see.

But yeah, I'm gonna watch some old 90s wrestling and see if I notice it.

I'm the same way. When they dive to the mat their initial impact sounds like a 1. Then they count 1, 2. And if I'm not paying attention I thought there was a botch because I thought they didn't kick out :mjlol:

Especially the ones where we focus too hard and see the dude on the mat eyeing the ref so he can time the kickout :mjlol:

Nick Patrick from WCW was the WOAT ref. He did that a lot and his actual three count motion was weird as fukk. Half the time it was hard to tell when his count started.

The other thing I would always notice with WWE refs back in the day, especially Hebner and Jack Doan, their three count would be quicker than if it's a nearfall. Jack Doan would fukking crank that three count out in 1 second :mjlol: so you knew right away the match was over due to the speed of the count

Another thing I hate is the New Japan refs hands hovering after the second count which ruins close nearfalls :francis:

Nick Patrick from WCW was the WOAT ref.

It always bothered me that he'd slip his hand under the shoulder of the downed wrestler to ensure he kicked out when he was supposed to.

Now, in his defense, it's a nice little trick but it was NEVER subtle enough.

Just look at a wrestler's eyes and you know they are kicking out if they are looking at the ref.

That always bugs me.

There's only a few wrestlers who don't have to do that to time the nearfall.

Ban all refs from the Ring, period!

Can't have them sliding into Nash's quad. DANGEROUS! :troll:

I hate and have always hated the face gets the tag and the ref nearly tackles the face from getting in because he doesn't see it...lol.
