North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
The outcomes always end up being the exception not the rule but the reactions are still just as over the top.

Yeah we know there is racist and prejudiced people in this country. But why cherry pick court cases to fuel the debate??

Guilty or not its not about race no more than it is about "beyond a reasonable doubt" which is all that's needed to sway a case. Why do you think Casey Anthony got acquitted. Maybe they suck at prosecuting high profile cases in the state of Florida.

bytch, shut the fukk up. It was about race the moment Zimmerman laid eyes on the kid. I hate all these non-blacks and ho ass black apologists trying to tell me 'it's not about race' when the fukking proof is seen daily.

:what: So the last 233 years of similar shyt doesn't count as 'the rule'

same nation that brought less than 1 percent of hangings and burning of blacks by whites to trial.

We do more harm to each other than cac. It seems as though we only get mad when police and non black people kill us. I I digress..

The point of this thread was about cases being cherry picked and over covered.

Jordan Russell Davis was killed by a cac because the car he was riding in was playing loud music. No national news coverage, no around the clock options and the victims moms even said she don't want it to be looked at as a hate crime.

Is not Jordan Russell Davis just as important as Martin :mjpls:

Again, cherry picking stories need to stop.

After things like this happen only a certain type of person talks about black on black crime. We can't speak on that every other day. The same situations and circumstances that has nikkas killing each other is part of the same agendas that allowed Zimmerman to walk. This is part of overall fukkkery which is way this isn't considered "cherrypicking" .

White people already hatted nikkas before the OJ trail... it took the OJ verdict to remind whites that they truly don't like us and that we need to be kept in our place. It took 9-11 for americans to become afraid enough allow our privacy to be taken. People sometimes need a shock to remind them - that's why it's not cherry picking. Conscious black people always consider these points - it's unrealistic to expect the masses to do the same. No matter what the race - Americans are controlled by headlines and news stories... nothing else.

News media and eventually everyone feeds into it.
are you sure these things arent trending on the internet first? the media only has so much capability to get you to be interested in something. they can sell the sizzle, but there has to be some steak there as well.

in the case of trayvon v zimmerman, you have a very troubling and poorly understood application of florida self defense laws on top of race, so it is a very novel story in the eyes of the public. it gives various groups what they would naturally be interested in. the gun nuts and racists get to live vicariously through zimmerman, and the civil rights types get more work.

i believe it was benjamin crump who lead the way in shaming the sanford PD into filing charges, not the media. the media eventually went with it after crump and people in his network of lawyers, churches, and civil rights advocates pushed it grasss roots style. this took about 4 weeks, breh.

so really i dont see cherry picking, i see grassroots advocacy that had the elements of a juicy story. the other case involving the teen you mentioned has no grassroots push.

This is not the same as "black on black crime." Most suspects in those cases get arrested almost immediately. This dude saw a black kid and immediately thought, "criminal." If you don't understand the difference, well... you're just like a lot of the happy americans right now.

Jordan Russell Davis IS just as important, but we are a reactive country. We respond to what is in the news at the time. It's unfortunate, but it's the truth. It sucks that so many people, including black people, try to discredit everything about this case because they think another case is, "more important," or "polarizing." When in reality, they're both pretty fukked up.

You know damned well we don't choose what CNN puts on television, it's the hot topic right now, and as we address it, there are waaay too many people trying to deflect that attention onto another case.

The Zimmerman case cause initial outrage because he killed a kid and WAS NOT arrested. Michael Dunn was arrested immediately. The outrage comes from a different place. All we can hope for, is he gets what he deserves.

Let's take it one case at a time, instead of trying to group a while lot of shyt together and make it the same. It's not the same, and you know better.
