As a Buccaneers fan, I can't stand my team's fan base. Not the ones on the-coli (@Jutt, @holidayinn21, @KingsnBucs1987 & everyone else, mostly because we have some common sense), but everyone in the Tampa/St. Pete area that calls themselves a Buccaneers fan.
We have a young, talented QB that's shown he can play at a high level. The media & the fanbase are throwing Josh Freeman to the bushes. Our last couple of QBs have been Chris Simms, Brian Griese, Jeff Garcia, Bruce Gradkowski and Josh Johnson. We've never had an elite QB. Brad Johnson was our QB when we won the Superbowl in 2003 and I'm pretty sure the defense scored almost as many touchdowns as the offense that season.
Our secondary is the worst in the NFL. Freeman ALWAYS has to play from behind because of it. I browse the boards and check out the Tampa news to see what people are saying. The general consensus is that we need to draft a QB in the first round of this draft.
Give me a break. We'd rather throw our young, franchise QB to the bushes because he had a string of bad games? He had to force throws because our secondary is made up of guys with the athleticism and intelligence of middle school special ed girls. Always playing from behind. Put anyone in that situation and they're destined to fail.
These "fans" that are complaining don't even show up to games. We're 31st in attendance and we were competitive for most of the season. fukk this fan base. Move this team to a spot other than Tampa and I'll still support this team. These Tampa/St. Pete folk aren't cut for supporting a franchise (see the Rays too).
