Banding, Clouding, Blooming, Flashlighting, Backlight Bleeding, Screen Burn In, Dead Pixels

its virtually impossible to find a LCD / LED TV without one of these issues.

if you really wanna know how messed up your TV is you can download the benchmark from here and it will expose the flaws to you
TVblink HDTV

Don't even get started on OLED
ps-vita-screen-problems.jpg

that's called the Mura effect and apparently Vitas are highly susceptible to OLED image burn-in

Has used mostly Samsung, but currently has a PS3 3DTV & a LG and some other off brand for the play room. Never had any issues that a non fakkit would notice
Especially if its supposed to look like that Vita pic :scusthov:

I guess I'll have to knock on wood now, but I'm not gonna... I'm not gonna let the-coli jinx get me that iz

that Vita thing is just an OLED thing. most of those TV issues the average person wouldn't notice until pointed out to them but once you see them you'll never unsee them. my 55in LG has some backlight bleeding on the edges at the top and side. i noticed on my own. towards the edge there are a few hotspots and when you get the black bars on widescreen content you can't not notice. the local dimming helps hide it.

my 47 in Sony has the Flashlighting but its very minor and can only be seen on all black screens

looks like there are flashlights shining in the corners like that pic

banding2-300x2251.jpg

that's banding those lines going through the TV because the colors are uneven.

cloudingsharpsv7.jpg

that's clouding through the whole screen.

Well that pic is showing a SONY branded TV. I hear sony makes shytty quality TV's now, but most "posters" when this gen started would have told you the opposite :heh:
So the problem might begin with the model, and whats actually a good quality TV
I noticed that type of shyt at best buy mostly, but my TV's don't do that
None of them. My TV's vary from 1 to 4yrs old, not but I don't think that matters...

the stuff i'm talking about in inherent to LCD and LED screens. its a technology flaw not a brand flaw. there's gonna be some degree of some of these issues on any given set.

No problems with any of my Sony shyts breh :manny: sorry.
you probably never noticed any of the issues. its a technology flaw so all LCD or LED tvs exhibit some of these traits. i think its far more noticeable on LED tvs though. i've played the return game and you end up possibly getting TVs that have the issue worse than your previous one had it. its a hassle having to box these TVs up and return them.

that's why i won't run that DVD that exposes the flaws in your tv. once i see them i'll never be able to not notice them.

I could already tell on the vita tbh. It's quite noticeable when its all black, but I am a bit obsessed so I can spot it rather quickly. I am VERY picky and its to a point in where I am never comfortable with buying a monitor/tv online because I even return mine with 1 dead pixel.

Happened to me on a 27 inch iMac I had and it was completely unacceptable to me, one dead pixel? Returned and I don't think twice about it. The first thing I do is remove everything from the desktop and put an all black background to spot a dead or stuck pixel, then an all white background to test discoloration if any. If I have a dead/stuck pixel I attempt to fix it for about 2 days to see if it will unstick...if not exchange. Discoloration gets returned same day/next day.
