...and now my girl has been acting like she's always been supportive. And to be perfectly honest, she hasn't. At all. Not even close. When I was saving all my money so I could make the stories I wanted, she complained about why my apartment wasn't nicer, why we couldn't go out to eat more often, and why we didn't go on more expensive vacations.
So, a few months ago, we're at the festival...and they paid for my hotels, gave me free transportation, free endless alcohol and food, etc. You get treated like royalty. A lot of the nicer stuff is filmmaker exclusive, and they give you a badge with a small picture of your face on it to get you into things. So hearing this, my girl flat out asks for a badge. You could tell the woman at registration didn't want to do it because my girlfriend literally had nothing to do with my project.
I'm kind of irked that my girl EXPECTED perks of the film being in the festival when she made it difficult to get completed. The sound, music, cinematographer, grip, crafty, actors, festival fees, I paid for all of that myself. And the entire time, she complained about where my money was going. AND on top of that, after my screenings and Q&A's, when women would come up to me and speak about the project (usually to tell me that they liked it), my girl got pissed and I ended up having to deal with it later at the hotel.
Is it wrong that I feel a bit upset that she feels as if she's entitled to the fruits of my labor when she was an obstacle during production?
