I just playing XSX and bought the original Xbox game Splinter Cell Chaos Theory on sale, which is $6. I have to say, I was actually shocked and impressed that XSX was able to enhance the graphics of original Xbox games with FPS boost, high resolution and auto HDR from Original Xbox and 360 games had me :whoo: . Feel like they remade their games or better. I wish PS5 would have done this like XSX did for classic games from PS1-PS3. The only reason I keep XSX is because of backwards compatibility and I still have 360 games. Last month, I played Max Payne 3 and it looks like remasteted and loading is faster like in a sec like next gen loading. That's all I can say positive about XSX.

This plus being able to take game saves from 2005, through different consoles, and play them in 2024 is still mind-blowing to me.

if you REALLY want to play Max Payne 3 with 60+fps at 4K, play it on PC if you have one. I first played it on PS3 years ago then played it on PC after at 60+fps in 1440P and it was beautiful.

On Series X it isn't enhanced so you're not getting any boosts to it. Only on certain old Xbox original games and select 360/X1 games.

I bought them recently again to run through also on sale. (XSX sales have been insane this last year)

But yeah, It's pretty amazing, especially having it at the start of the generation. It was something you really just had to experience to realize how dope it is, it's not halfes baked and it's free. It's why the old games narrative is so clear in my head... Backwards compatibility that auto upscaled supported games for free is insane.

But tbh I think a big part of why it's not really followed up with anymore is because these devs are make bank off selling what the XSX was doing for free, depending on the game XSX would upscale it, locked it a 60 or uncapped it so VRR could take full advantage of the game, and it did this for games that didn't even have some of those options on PC.

XSX is probably in my top 3 as far as favorite pieces of console hardware.

The reason i only buy games in the microsoft store.

They have the best terms and rights by far.

Will be able to play the hundreds of games i own on lots of different platforms with enhancements for free.

Other platforms have you pay for upgrades/remasters or just don’t let you bring your games along at all.
