corporations, etc.

For instance a company can do a background check on you and find out a crime you've committed and you've been to jail over that crime, and end up not hiring you because of that.

What is the point of serving time when you are still going to receive negative repercussions for your crime even after you've "repaid society" for that crime?

Should employers not be able to discover if you've been to jail for embezzlement or any type of crime that may call into question your trustworthiness?

But you served time for your crime. You've been fined, loss time out of your life, what else do you need to do to "repay your debt to society?" :why:

There is a chance of anyone committing a crime no matter if their past is clean or not...crime wise. Because yes that person didn't always have a criminal record.

judgement of character goes a long way in this society we're in and it says if done once possibilty of a second time is most def.if you've done a crime and served 2 or 3 years best believe itll take 5 to 10 years for someone to trust you again in that given situation.

:lolbron: so what's the point of doing a good job if you can't refer back to that so people know what to expect from you next? When you hit jail you

If you owned a business wouldn't you like to know if the person you're hiring has a record? :usure:

A lot of countries dont do this to people though. Our records stay with us our whole lives, I got caught with a joint when i was 17 and ive been harrassed constantly over it. im 28 now. just this year i got turned down for a good job because of it. ive been pulled over by police and forced to sit in the desert for 2 hours while they call the drug dogs in. they search me everytime they id me.

i got in a lot of trouble when i was younger and i have a dozen or so convictions on my record. but i got my act togethor around my 20s and i have been responsible and stayed away from trouble. the fact i havnt been arrested since i was 21 doesnt matter. im fukked for the rest of my life because of the things i did as a kid. its not right, i paid my debt, i learned my lesson. i should be allowed to get a good job. people should be allowed to have MOST convictions stricken from their record after a certain period of time. the state i grew up in, my convictions can NEVER be expunged. they will follow me the rest of my life.

and im not talking about chomos pedos and shyt,

Its all part of the game. They keep people in pseudo slavery forever. Its like a scarlet letter on that person's record forever. It shows that our justice system is a fraud because they don't believe it in themselves. They don't want those people out of prison that's why they put it in their records. They want them back in prison. By making it difficult for them to get a job they are going to revert back to crime and go back to prison meaning more free labor and money for the states. They don't give a fukk about rehabilitation. :yeshrug:

Of course there are some records that need to be known by employers when hiring if it pertains to the job, like embezzlement and being a pedophile. But some of the shyt people do to get locked up, like selling drugs or other non violent offenses shouldn't stop an person from trying to earn a wage and change their lives.

Are you sure you can't get the records expunged? My homie had two felony arrests and one conviction and now he is a lawyer. He got all his 21 and under records expunged and this was in Ga.
