I dare anyone to find me a horror movie as scary as the 1984 disaster film 'Threads'.

Threads, The Day After, Testament and Looking Glass should be companion pieces to one another. People who get into arguments about which are better miss the points. Each has something horrific to tell.

Full impact watch them all.

The vaporization scenes caused nightmares.

You had no love for little sister's fate? I didn't catch it until 25 years later, then I wanted to vomit. For all that, and what ended up happening to all the people in the shelter....

The scene with the farmers asking the tough questions was real. And then the impact hits that that wasn't a hollywood exaggeration of the best prep.

The seeming cowerdice of brithetman turning into nobility.

The survivors versus the farm family...

Life, what's left of it, going on.

Lot of fukked up scenes in Threads, too.

I always figured the announcers were so coy with who started it in all the movies because the West did. Or some fukknut nation with more bombs than sense. Just to drive the unease in deeper.
