I was born in 77 :flabbynsick:

When I was in elementary and middle school, my older cousins were blasting bangers like

Even 3 Stacks couldn't deny this one. He referenced it in Wheelz of Steel:

All time classic, ask Ri Ri:

Miami's national anthem:

So many 80s pop bangers. The Video Music Box documentary talked about how a lot of these became hood classics, never mind the cac faces.

I can feel it…coming in the air tonight.

Oh lord.

And I've been waiting for this moment… for all my life.

Oh lord.

:wow:
Imagine 20 year old Mike Tyson in the locker room listening to that…moments before knocking out Trevor Berbick.

Powerful stuff brehs.

Yeah, same with me..

In NYC, there wasn't a full time HipHop station until '92. So most of the 'Urban' playlists would be R&B, Dance & Pop.

I like the music from the movie Drive. Not sure what the name of that genre is, 80s pop? Synth pop?

The older I get, the more I admire that neon vice city type of aesthetic. Like breh said, it’s good road music

80s was apex of pop music IMO
It's telling when the top pop stars of today are biting the 80s in one form or another
The rise of the Music video made the 80s distinct from others
