Most of you know I make music, infact, i rescored a movie and I am putting out the album at the end of the month (who cares). i love movies, while i have done voice acting (narrating mostly) someday i might actually act, most of the problem is that im not real big on showing my face and it would take the right role to make me actually do it (its just a stupid gimmick). Anyhow, I wrote these script some of which are completed, others which arent, ill summarize them for you here, you can give your opinion or just keep it moving but i thought it would be fun to share

Working Tititle-"The Title"
Genre-Sports

Concept-

In 2016 a huge payoff scandal between 3 major boxing organizations forces congress to finally step in and form a federal fight commission for the sport, state athletic commissions are now being federally monitored, but worst of all, nearly every single major belt holder is stripped as the organizations have been gutted. In an effort to rebuild the sport, boxing is brought down to 12 divisions from 17 in order to help bring balance to the sport. Same day weigh ins are restored. A tournament for each division idea is set up with each division crowning new champions, the tournament would take the top 10 fighters, match them up in a knock out elimination style setup with the final on HBO/Showtime PPV depending on the division.

The story mostly focuses on a set of fighters at the hottest division, welterweight. I had several ideas for fighters mostly based on the sport between 1991-2006, most of the focus would be on two fighters in particular. One fighter primarily based on Zab Judah, a guy who is a lifelong underachiver, I think the name I had was Joel Yoab, or Yoel Job, something like that. His relationship would be based on his friendship and rivalry with a roy jones/mayweather type character (i think i named him Tommy Kennedy) who is a major overachiever with a loaded resume, but because hes never really been tested is accused of not really fighting the best even if its unfounded, basically two individuals who are hated but for different reasons, focusing on how in the boxing world, nothing really pleases anyone because there is no definitive champion and now there will finally be one.

I had a filipino fighter based on Nonito Donaire who is annoyed that he has to still live in the shadow of a legendary filipino fighter from a previous decade (obviously pacquiao.

An english fighter who is beloved by his countrymen but is severely overrated (ricky hatton)

A mexican fighter whos borderline obsession with another mexican fighter across town is a huge focus because its based on the relationship between fernando vargas and de la hoya, whom vargas accused of not being mexican enough, even though de la hoya was a mexican citizen who earned it etc.

The idea was to focus on how boxing had more or less turned into a internet based sport with most of the hype/talk coming from messageboards and how rumours online basically become fukking gospel without the lack of real journalists writing about the sport, with boxing back in the main focus the sport is not only legitimized, but every fighter is forced to fight each other and cant duck. Injuries knock you out of the tournament if you cant compete for 3 months between the signed fight. Alot of the story was an examination of how fighters go over the top to try to sell a fight often at the expense of reality, with the tournament coming the rivalries are real since it isnt on PPV there is no reason to try to "sell" anything. So more or less each fighter gets some screen time. I had about 12 endings lined up with only 3 that i actually thought were decent. Its not an underdog type story, its more about the difficult relationship between the fighters, promoters and sanctioning bodies and how the federal commission is making things better but worse at the same time.

Working Title - Queens Kings
Genre- Action/Drama

Concept- This one was one of the more difficult stories to write because i had to change ALOT of names but for the sake of this board ill simplify it and use exact examples. Its basically a few stories rolled into one movie, basically going like this.

-LL Cool J and Kool G Rap leading parallel lives in opposite directions while being mentored by rapper silver fox. LL being more or less a squeaky clean and trying to maintain a good image, while G Rap was robbing, slanging and pimping. Their interactions would mostly be restricted to battling while the film details their drastically different outlooks on life. A key moment is when 50 cent robs LL Cool Js chain and its effect on him mentally.

-Alpo and his rise to power and eventual murder of rich porter told exclusively through his eyes. Basically I liked the idea of a villain protagnist who justifies his backstabbing ways by being more or less influenced by how business and sports teams operate, when someone is no longer of use they are released, if someone is owed money they are sued, but because this is the hood, his reasons and logic are applied to hood reasoning and he flat out kills his rivals/associates alike, whats key is understanding his motivations for doing what he did, paid in full more or less glossed over it, a real examination is alot more interesting to me.

-Eric B. and Rakim and Eric B. basically using and forcing large professor/rakim/marley marl to produce their debut album. Focusing on Rakim and his tenative relationship with eric b, big daddy kane, g rap and the juice crew. Large Professor balancing production, grafiti and school and Eric B being an overall a$$hole. This is my favorite segment because there are so few details on this i basically wrote things however i wanted to and how i imagined it would be, appearences from the real 50 cent, supreme magnetic and a few other hood legends would also appear.

-Supremes downfall Basically i was always curious at how one song could get somebody nearly murdered and its ripple effects throughout the entire industry. Alot of the focus is on supremes reaction and anger over someone having the audacity talk that much in a song. After 50 is shot and lives, supremes reaction is more or less anger because hes still alive and he is starting to feel his power more or less coming apart. I wrote a scene about how Irv Gotti gets a battery in his back once he has supremes backing, the murder of e-money bags and eventual downfall. This focuses on supreme from around 97 to his eventual reimprisonment

Keep in mind, I am from the bay area california and new york is a world away i had to do a ton of research to even start writing anything and half of it is shyt im making up based on real situations.

i have a few more but i gotta take care of something, ill try to post more later in the week or later today i hope you guys were amused

Cool idea for a thread, props.

About the first pitch I personally would be :mindblown: over "congress to finally step in and form a federal fight commission for the sport" unless the USA is facist country in your world. How do the boxers make money, since there is no PPV, and much?

...they have been trying to do this for years, john mccain lobbied hard for it, basically it would help the sport in alot of ways. First of yall it would stop local bumfukk commissions like tenn and alabama from letting guys like tommy aids morrisson get fights. it would also stop guys who literally have records of 8-113 and 20-176 from being allowed to fight.

a federal commission basically oversees the state commissions to make sure there are uniform guidelines on each atheletic commission with concessions made for each state.

it would help ALOT.
