How about these idiots get some financial education instead of spending all their money.. Pensions are just about dead.

both would help greatly but unfortunately boxing, like other sports hell maybe even more, attracts fighters dont have formal education more often than not..its worse because boxing is also heavily decentralized

You don't learn financial education in school. It's self taught. Read books, go on youtube... It aint that hard.

There is no centralized organization in boxing so doesn't really make sense in that aspect
I'm not sure Holyfield is even a good example for a pension, his issue seems like mismanagement of funds more than anything

My job got a pension :yeshrug:

My company had one of the best pensions. They said "your pension must come to a end" and they killed it. I seen a chart of company profits after ending a pension and it went straight up. If you still have a pension it's temporary.. Pensions are for people who know nothing about investing. You can create your own pension and make 10X what they were gonna pay you.

Heavily decentralized which is a vacuum for corruption and deceit. Boxing is basically the sports equivalent of the music industry.

Beyond formal education these dudes are getting money for the first time, surrounded by vultures and getting CTE. Its a wonder more aren't broke than we know of. Gerry c00ney pays Mitch Blood Green's bills last I read some years ago.
