I've been posting my reactions to each episode in another thread. Just finished Episode 101 so I'll be posting my reactions to each ep as I go along.
So far this is definitely up there with the likes of the Dark Tournament (Yu Yu Hakusho), Jojo's parts 2-4, and Enies Lobby (One Piece) one of the GOAT arcs in anime.
I messed up by sleeping on Hunter x Hunter for as long as I did. Haven't had this feeling since watching Jojo's Part 4 for the first time

EVERYTHING about this arc is savage on another level...
The characters are more savage.
The kills are savage.
The plot twists are savage.
Even the soundtrack is savage

When those little kids got eaten by the chimera ants
I've got an ugly feeling that this is only the beginning, too
Just finished Episode 83.
I can see why this arc is considered one of the GOATs. I can't believe how wild this storyline is getting.
These Chimera Ants are vicious, some of the most savage villains I've seen in an anime so far. They're just carrying people off by the hundreds and feeding them to the queen like it's nothing
They ain't have to do old girl Ponzu like THAT
Getting one in the dome right in the middle of her plan to get help, and getting bloodily devoured
These chimera ant fights are brutal though. The way that centaur looking dude came in with two butt naked dudes () with leashes on being his dogs and casually stomping them to death
These kills are next-level
Killua snapping that mosquito lady's neck and ripping her head clean off
Gon slicing that centipede guy in half with a new rock-paper-scissors technique
Kite casually sonning that centaur and later murking that whole forest full of ants with his scythe attack
Just now Gon crushed that armadillo chimera ant while he was balled up
Then you had Killua ripping old dude's heart out like Kano in Mortal Kombat. Fatalities everywhere in this story arc
And the worst part is that the ants are starting to figure out nen. Once they all learn it, it's looking like it's a wrap

EPISODE 84 SPOILERS:
Imagine you're out exploring a new country with your girl. You and your crew get ambushed by a bunch of demonic monsters way stronger than any human.
Your girl goes to get help, and she gets several bullets through the dome from one of those demons before she's brutally ripped to shreds and eaten.
You wake up in the demon's lair, and you're stuck hiding butt booty nekkid in a pile of human corpses, waiting for your chance to escape. Just when you think you have a chance...
an even stronger is born that minute that's 100x stronger than the rest, and they sense your presence immediately.
You get dragged out of the pile of corpses, still butt-naked, and you get lobotomized. The monsters open up your skull, pick your brain with chopsticks for everything you know forcing you to snitch on the human race. You're fully aware of everything that's happening, and there's nothing you can do to save yourself.
When they're finished, some Pigma-Dengar looking dude comes through with a butcher knife and brutally hacks you to pieces. Your rotting corpse is fed to the queen of the monsters. None of your homies from the previous arcs came to save you. They don't even remember you. No one will ever remember you.
I never pictured ANY anime character having a worse life than YAMCHA
That's EASILY a top 2 most brutal hoeing of any fictional character I've ever seen
They couldn't let him keep his draws on?
EPISODE 85 SPOILERS:
THIS FOOL KITE HAD ALL THE SAUCE AND PITOU STRAIGHT ICED HIM OUT LIKE HE WASN'T JACK

How are Gon and Killua going to get strong enough to beat these dudes?
I don't know how much more of this Game of Thrones x Hunter I can take... I gotta see how this ends, y'all
Ninja, these ants have ME shook. Just finished Episode 87, and these Chimera Ants are a top 2 most demonic anime villain clique of all time (beaten only the Godhead in Berserk) IMO.
It's cool seeing Bisky back on the scene, and to see Gon and Killua making progress with their ren training.
Bisky staring at all them magazines full of dudes likeat while Gon and Killua were practicing their nen techniques
Every anime has to have that old master who's a total perv

When she was pouring the whole cup of sugar into her tea and Gon and Killua were looking at her with theface
What really burns slow is the way Gon and Killua are still set on rescuing Kite not knowing what's already happened to him.
This ant queen is so nasty.
Over here swole up like Jabba the Hutt. I can't believe the rest of those ants aren't scust to even be around her, especially that dude Colt with the wings.
He'll be out here like... "Look, why don't you go up the street and get something to eat, I know you hungry"

Speaking of the chimera ants, why are they always keeping all their prisoners booty-butt naked? It's so demonic, friend.

Now we're seeing the real G's in action. This dude Neterou is catching all the bodies

How is Gon gonna beat this dude Knuckle though?

Shoot... is a coward. They're really bringing this clown to fight the Chimera ants?
You KNOW he's going to get his behind tore up...
Watch them physically rip that mess off and hand it to him like "Oh I'm sorry, the queen don't even like this part. My bad"

...but he ran out of gas in the middle of the fight. I've got a bad feeling. If Gon and Killua are having this much trouble getting the tokens from these dudes, then how are they going to stand up the chimera ants? Bisky gave my dude Killua the beats, too. Out here looking like a Jojo's character

@ Ikalgo coming through to save Killua in the end. Between this and Meleroron switching sides, it turns out that we've actually got a few decent chimera ants who are pretty cool people.
