I referenced this in the live thread but this image just puts things into perspective.

We all know that Randy, John and Hunter don't need to be in this but that's just WWE relying on the past as always. The fact that the only recent homegrown guy deemed worthy to be in this match is Braun does seem to be an indictment on WWE developmental though.

Anyway what are your thoughts on both teams being so old?

I still see no problem with this tho. This is part timers being used right IMO. Instead of just having part timers vs part timers or part timers vs roman. This is how I want the older popular names used. I'm pretty sure this card is going to bring some eyes who gave up on the product so with that match being important with all those names and the newer guys. Finn naka Joe can show everyone what they are made of.

I know a lot of them are like 37 and 40 but so? Its not like they are all gonna retire next year because they can't keep up this isn't basketball.

Who is realistically in their 20s that would fit this type of gigantic match?

Wrestlers always trended older... Due to it being a performance art. Your usually better the older you get. It's not like actual competitive sport where being younger has physical advantages.

I mean every era for the most part the headliners were usually no younger than 30

Who cares tbh, I mean WWE doesn't make majority of their own stars but end up using established guys from indies/TNA/NJPW so it's not a surprise they're older.

But this is the same company that was cracking jokes about Hogan, Savage, and Mean Gene's age every week.

Still to this day in their little Monday Night Wars documentaries they always crack jokes about WCW's roster being older.

The difference I see is hogan was like in his 40s still tryna be the number 1 guy refusing to put anyone over.

All these guys now like cena still have value to their name yet put on great matches and put over talent.

And even though wwe cracks jokes about that. Its not like Steve Austin was in his 20s when they ran with him.

Vince probably would have kept all those guys in prominent roles as long as he could if Ted Turner wasn't around

Stroman, Nakumura, Roode, Joe and Balor are all "new stars" in the WWE.

Just because they're all over the age of 30 doesn't mean they aren't fresh faces lol...

In the original draft, I had a couple sentences about relying on talent made from ROH, TNA and NJPW but decided to focus the thread on relying on the past.

Which shows that either the Performance Center isn't improving people or their not recruiting well.
