Well they just couldn't do it at the time. But I don't feel like "Logan" really stepped on the "Old Man Logan" story line,so they can still do it.
I don't know if they ever even said Logan was based on "Old Man Logan" or if people just assumed it was because he was old lol.
I think they will still do it to be honest,a lot of money to be made there if done like the comic. Would allow them to bring back old favorites as well being that it wouldn't be tied to the current timeline.

They really didn't have a chance since Disney bought Fox. The proposed Laura solo movie and the Drew Goddard directed X-Force film were two casualties in the buyout.Give us Logan 2 or MCU Old Man Logan with actual comic book characters people know
100% chance they dig him back up,he's a fan favorite and still wants to do the movies. He just shouldn't be Wolverine in the X-Men movies obviously. If his movies keep making 2 million,he might even be up for doing tv
I know he died because supposedly his healing doesn't work because of his adamantium. But they could easily just say his healing was slow because of the corn that was killing off all the other mutants. After being in a grave with no corn syrup/gmo foods his healing factor could have slowly kicked back in. Its not like it would just stop because his heart stops. Maybe he wakes up long after they bury him,and Lauras either in trouble or ends up being one of the bad guys. The actress who plays her is nearly 18 now,so you can set it at whatever time you want since she ages slow. It can be a decade later,or 100 years later.

I thought I might check this film out but as soon as I saw Lisa Joy from Westworld was involved I was out.
That show and this movie has all the things I should love: sci fi, drama, thought provoking themes, creative scenery, etc. But for some reason they always completely drop the ball on the scripts. If they can't get a film lover like me in, then they can't win.
