Word is this is going beyond a trilogy and he really is creating a new comic universe with new characters.

A hyper-realistic comic book universe, instead of kissing ass to helm wack passionless flicks about characters that are 40, 60, 80 goddamn years old and been done to death. I mean, how Batman mommy and daddy die again? I forgot. Why don't you show that shyt against at the start of the next Batman franchise. How Superman get here? I forgot. I'm sure you'll remind me. Spidey got bit? BY A SPIDER? AWWWW SHYT!!!

He kinda already did with Unbreakable. And while Split is part of the universe, its only real connection was that they mentioned Mr. Glass, very lukewarm twist, but still, the movie was solid. I take it "Beast" and The Sentry will take on Glass. Whatever may come, its gonna be epic.
