I’ll give you that Melo wasn’t quite as injury prone as TMac. Even though skillwise I’m taking Mcgrady.

Its pure recency bias and nothing more. Tracy mcgrady for about a 5 year stretch you can make a very strong case was a top 5 player in the league, only kobe was better than him at his position. Never has carmelo being considered a top 5 player in the league undisputed and never for anything close to a 5 year stretch, mcgrady at his peak was imply the better player and it isn't close. Carmelo has the better fan base and popularity but he has never made any first team all nba once in his career, that's an indictment on melo
