Want to try my first fast. I eat alot though and I'm :flabbynsick::flabbynsick::flabbynsick:

How can I do this effectively? I eat like a muthafukker and my stomach is huge. I got sickle cell so I cannot really excersie too much, in other words I cannot run only walk and no squats or deadlifts...

I had breakfast but now I'm regretting it:flabbynsick::flabbynsick::flabbynsick:

So fukk lunch I wanna not eat for 2 days...

Seriously though, you might want to set an overall fitness goal rather than torturing yourself for a couple days. Try gradually working your way up to walking 10,000 steps a day and adjusting your diet.

48 hours is too long, I would try something like 12-16 hours first. Better to do that a week than just do a straight 48 hours one. Also fasting won't guarantee losing weight. Just eat less and walk

I do a water fast for 7 days at the top of each year. After about 2-3 days, you're not even hungry anymore. Get a few good books, a hoodie to walk around in, and lay down a lot. That's how I get thru it.

How does it benefit you? Been thinking of resetting my gut

The biggest benefit is mental. You drop a lot of water weight and you feel refreshed. But mentally it's a challenge. You realize how much food plays a part in your daily life. That saying "eat to live, not live to eat" is on full display. A lot of our time is spent eating when we don't even need to....we just want to. At the end of the fast, I become selective about what I put in my body, how much I drink, etc. If you're looking to drop water weight (that you'll eventually put back on) and obtain some clarity, a water fast is something I wholeheartedly stand by.

Breh do you still do this? I'm trying to do this because it seems Water fasting is a great way to get the toxins out of your system. The problem is I feel extremely weak every time I do this (I've done 3 day water fasts in the past), I end up going to work looking like a damn zombie :mjlol:

Your body gets rid of toxins by design. You feel weak because you are denying your body of fuel.

Their aren't enough benefits to justify it IMO

Yep. It gets easier and easier each year. The only inconvenience about going to work is the bad breath. Get you some sugarless gum and just keep adding a day each year. You got up to 3....next time try to get 4. You'd be surprised how easy it gets. This year I even walked on the treadmill 4 days during the fast. Had pretty decent energy level.

I've heard there are toxins your body cannot get rid of unless you take a break from food, supposedly giving your body a break from having to digest food allows it to expel toxins that you've had for quite some time :yeshrug:
