What is was, was the collapse of the American Music Industry as a global force that opened doors.

Youth the World over relied on the American music industry to feed them music, up until it collapsed in the mid to late 2000's forcing people throughout the world to get serious..not that they werent making their own before, but I noticed how world music blew up when people gave up on the US ever making good music again.

Recording music became cheap and accessible. Technology is the game changer.

No longer do artists need a bankroll and investors to start a career. Just a laptop. That's the revolution. And most people can't hear the difference in the quality of music or don't care to discern the difference. The good and bad of music becoming more accessible is the watered down state it had. Quantity is up but quality. We have more artists but far less exceptional ones.
