Bret Hart adding to his legend in that first one. That's my GOAT :to:

Damn, I remember on his DVD talmbout how he wrestled 3 different matches that night, and how all three where classics. Razor Ramon, Mr. Perfect, and Bam Bam Bigelow.

Damn you, Goldberg :birdman:

Owen winning the following one, and bringing out the Anvil that night :lolbron:

:win:

King of the Ring had terrible buyrates yearly. WWE did some research into it and realized that the nature of the event (tournament format) put people off buying it, since the card wasn't already determined before the night began.

War Games requires two rings installed. WWE supposedly doesn't want to give away arena real estate that they could use for seating just to have the two rings. The Eliminaton Chamber was created as a work around for this, and it has some of the elements of War Games (timed entrances into the match, capability to host multi-member team matches, looks brutal).

Hmm....great reply. And KOTR makes MORE sense on tv because of the stay-tuned-to-see-whats-next nature of tv.

IDK breh, I like Money in the Bank for a summer event

they have yet to have any bad Money in the bank events (except Cena winning the briefcase)

I'd rather have King of the Ring in September instead of crappy "Night of Champions" but let it last awhile so the winner can fight the champion in October

The fall season is when WWE is at its worst IMO

I can see that...

The 2000 KOTR is a good example. You'd think an 8 man tournament with Angle, Benoit, Jericho, and Guerrero couldn't possibly lose... til you see how it played out and was booked. And then the rest of the card was aaaiiiight... but nothing must-see. So not knowing what the show will really look like and possibly paying for a bunch of short weak matches prob'ly is a hard sell.

n1ggas around the way hated on wm4 heavy too, most casual fans found tournaments boring :manny:

I actually liked that show, but I was also 8 :russ:... but in retrospect, I can see how it got such bad reviews. Especially all those shytty finishes to the matches. It's great for the Savage story and how Hogan got his revenge on DiBiase/Andre... but it's a lot to sit through.

If WWE really wanted to have a War Games type of event, just have another 6 Man Armageddon Hell In a Cell Match.... the closest we'll get War Games in the WWE. Surprised there's only been one of these so it's still kinda new to have.
