This is why that Oscar shyt and most award shows are trash to me.

Nightcrawler was great, start to finish. Great character by Gyllenhall, great story and a great ending and the movie had me hooked the whole way through.

Yet Boyhood, a good movie, was nominated. But that movie to me was more of a cool concept than a great movie

In general, the Academy can't handle dark movies. They may squeeze out a best actor/actress or supporting nomination, but they don't have the balls to fully support those movies.
