How the hell did Wu-tang make all those skits/interludes?

How did they create those middle-of-the-street, hood skits?


shyt makes me feel like I'm fresh on the block, choppin' it up with Rae and Ghost and Rza, seeing things as they see them, feeling things as they feel them; they're the only group who evoked that feeling.


Anyone know how they did it?

I remember reading somewhere that rza had them walking around with mics or tape recorders and shyt so they could just record random conversations. i think it was in that XXL Making of Only Built 4 Cuban Linx article. They were explaining the skit before Glaciers of Ice with Ghostface.

Yup, very natural authentic conversations. A lot of skits today suck because they're so obviously rehearsed. Even the torture skit was shyt they literally talked about on the block as a fun way to break balls without gettin nikkas mad.

This is why RZA's foray into film is a credible idea . Some good initiative to bring authenticity to those skits . Really captures the moment .

Its a shame he didn't document the Wu in their early years further . Would have made for some good viewing if they filmed everything as well.
