I just finished rewatching the match. Great match but Mick took some obviously dangerous bumps that should have been saved for Mania. We know Vince wasn’t paying anyone not named Steve Austin like that back in ‘98, so how much do you think Foley got for that match? 250 racks? Probably less tbh.

Are you saying 250k for that year? Because for one match, that is terrific pay

For that one match. It was on PPV, it was a featured match and it had some dangerous ass bumps. For comparison, Mania main eventers typically get a million. fukking Shawn Michaels got $40k to interfere in the main event of a random ass in your house in ‘96. Surely Mick Foley had to have at least received low six figures for Hell in the Cell in one of the hottest years in the Attitude Era.

Damn I didn’t know that. Well yeah I guess in that case 250k isn’t as much as I thought. Mick had a legendary match. shyt I wonder how much Shawn got paid for his HIAC match. Wasn’t that the first one

I would guess less than 6 figures in his check from WWE for the match itself. But, that match also made him for the rest of his career and led to him getting a bigger push and probably making over a million in both 99 and 2000, more merch sales, more recognition so he could sell his book, etc. So I think him doing it instead of not doing it ended up making him at least a million over time.
