Joe Montana, Michael Jordan, Jerry Rice...even the name LeBron as unique as it is doesnt sound far out there. Plaxico is a lil strange tho. :usure:

But what if Joe Montana's name was Bill Zahdarinkski or something.
Joe Montana just sounds like a "cool" name. Bill Zahdarinkski, the greatest NFL QB of all time? :scusthov:

Or what if Michael Jordan was named Steve Box or something like that. The greatest NBA player of all time.....Steve Box :huhldup:

DwYAne Wade's name is even misspelled and he's pretty famous :heh:

LaDanian Tomlinson is a pretty :mindblown: name

PUJOLS :wtf::pachaha:

Also, if you're really something special, chances are you'll just have a nickname made up for you at a young age. Be it your initials or something your coaches or friends call you. You'd be surprised how many athletes go by names that aren't their real ones.

On KRS One's nose, eating sunflower seeds.
Steve Box?!? Lol!

You do have a point, however it's how good they are that makes their name dope. Michael Jordan being a role player wouldn't have have popped but Air Jordan is what made the name great. Nice thread.

The name Dwyane Wade is corny no matter how great he used to be.
