Better: if it wasn't for the internet and social media a lot of these independent artist that I currently listen to right now I probably would have never known about them.

Worst: Music fans today worry extremely way too much about what's going on in artists personal lives, it takes away the mystique.

Overall better. Have access to almost every song ever recorded, and can have discussions on music that people I know irl might not be interested in.

I always think to myself though: it’s great that anyone can make music now, but at the same time ANYONE can make music now.

Houston, by way of Pittsburgh.
The internet has been a great tool for finding new artists and discovering great music. Most of my favorite rappers today I've discovered on the internet.

Streaming and sales talk has completely ruined conversations for me on the net. That and debates not really being a thing because it seems like everybody is biased and can't have a real conversation about Hip Hop without you potentially running into a stan that just wants to troll.

It has its cool moments. Pirating everything moving, datpiff, watching Kendrick, Krit, Cole, etc coming through .

But then it had corny stuff like realizing blogs were controlling narratives and playing politics. When people take stanning too far beyond jokes. All the dudes snitching on tthemselves on social media. Slumming on Vlads couch :scust:

Streams fkedup the sales debates

It's actually hard to distinguish who are big artists now etc or whatever

Also the it introduced the fall off of hip hop media which acted as a governing body

Now it's just a. Free for all

better: reach . accessibility

worse: reach . over saturation.
