I'm trying new things. For some reason I started watching these programming vids on YouTube and all the programmers were fast azz typists. I was maxing out at 50. After a couple weeks Im up to 70. Got to 81 once, but I really want to get to a hundred for some reason.

Average in and around 130 wpm. Can go up to 160 tops in bursts.
Gotdamn, u one of them wizards. What tips u got?

I can do 110 (it can get higher occasionally). If you don't have one already, get yourself a nice mechanical keyboard that feels good. If you're already at 70, 100 is attainable with a little more practice.
Yeah, Im on a laptop. I may look into the mechanical keyboard. Cuz the faster typists definitely had that

Playing computer games in middle school all day seriously increased my typing speed. I had some basic touch typing classes in elementary school also, but playing computer games as a kid really upped my speed and put in that muscle memory early.

like 100, i probably could type more if that was all that my job was. I also don't type the way that you're supposed to type with your fingers on ASDF and JKL; characters, I just kinda go off of memory from anywhere on the keyboard.

Web Developer here and couldn't agree more. I have the Mechanical MX Keys and it's definitely the best keyboard I've ever used.

I should add that in programming/development it's more important to type well than to type fast. Of course, during your career, you'll become very accustom to your keyboard and various shortcuts.

I never realized how good I was until we went back to the office.

I be typing to other co workers on Skype, and I type multiple messages while they're still typing. And also alot of ppl have to look at the keyboard while typing, I don't

I think mine is also helped by playing piano.
