If I remember correctly, it was about 8 white teens jumping an FOB (fresh off the boat) Chinese kid. Video went viral and the teens were facing heavy sentences.. 20+ years I believe.

Perception, especially public perception is very important. If this video didn't go viral or if there weren't any video of this event going down.. the white teens probably would have been left off with a warning, probably just suspended from school, etc.

Remember when people thought they were black or gang-affiliated? When in reality they were just a bunch of privileged white kids living in the suburbs?

I also remember a whole bunch of Asian people posting reaction videos on YouTube.

According to the video they all got arrested but only one got charged as an adult and couldnt bail while the others as juveniles and were released smfh
