I feel like if I don't get carbs in before a workout my workouts and lifts aren't as good. Get tired a lot faster. I try to get some type of carbs in like half a bagel. Really trying to cut on carbs except for post workout but pre workout needs some as well. How much do ya'll take.

Zero. Fasted workouts only. Food before either doesn't affect me or it slows me down, while being fasted i perform always at peak. I know the difference between thirst and hunger, so i dont feel lost without food in me during the workout.

i usually have something to eat before I lift or play ball..if I dont I cant go as hard...especially playing ball, if im hungry it affects me more than lifting.

I know a lot of people on here are into fasted lifting, but my body has never responded well to it. I always have my best workouts when I have a lot of carbs. @nalej if your like me but trying to cut carbs I suggest keeping your carbs the same for pre and post workout for obvious reasons and for your other meals go for good fats and finish with protein

Zero, I train fasted 1st thing in the morning. I will say that I can push further on the rare occasion I lift after work and I have consumed most of my calories.

Personal preference aside you have to also look at how available what you eat prior to is going to be during the workout. More than likely what you eat the night prior to and the following morning, lunch are the building block for and afternoon or evening lift.

wow really surprised so many of you don't eat before lifting. If it works I guess.

About 45g of carbs seems to be the sweet spot for me pre workout. Even if I cut and have to go ultra low carb I'll try and corral carbs around my lift to get that in before.

I'd eventually end up on the first 48 if I had to lift fasted on a regular basis so like I've said a few times I salute the coli gym brehs who pull it off.

I agree with OP. Well my situation might be unique since I workout right after my physically demanding job. I'm not sure about the numbers but I usually eat a banana and apple with a few spoons of natty pb.
