I aint gonna front it takes me days sometimes to bang out one beat. one because i dont have the patience and two, i hit a producers block very easily. ive only just started making beats regularly, ive made a few over the past few years but now i want to practice and get better, so ive started making more. but i see people making beats within 30 minutes and it comes out a banger, i could never do that, so i just want to know how long generally would you spend making one beat?

Really varies for me. 30 mins to 1hr average if I already have a plan. If I'm building from scratch I might make the drums first then try a dozen different samples till I get that feelin when u know it's gonna be dope.
The key is having your sounds organised. I got all my drums and sound etc filed in categories and clearly labelled up, so I can hop straight into a folder and get what i'm looking for.
I would guess it takes longer if you don't use any samples, I can't play a damn note lol so I always do use them!

yeh i hear that man, i only recently got my sounds kind of where i need them, like i know where to look now for a certain vibe but i still need to explore. i been making a list of songs that i may have to flip sometime, but right now im trying to improve my non sample beats so its taking me alot longer to get that melody right. im cooking up something right now and its sounding OK but im stuck on where to go with it now, ill up it here when its done. im learning alot as i make these beats so im taking alot longer than normal cos i would be writing down chords as i learn them and just general tips for keyboard.

i cant wait to finish this beat though so i can just flip these samples ive got loaded up, made a nice boom bap sty;e drum loop and i just need to find the right sample to chop over it. been studying rzas beats and i have a lot more respect for him now then i did before, the way he flips samples and scratches sounds into the song to add layers is insane,

i mean it depends on what your trying to do. you can make a banger in 30 but its not gonna be anything revolutionary

Workflow is a big thing. I'm about 8 months in and I'm just starting to get to the point where I can pump skeleton beats out in a half hour.

I actually recently posted a beat I made in about 20 minutes. But again, there's no mixing ect.

I try to make my beat very complex so i can spend like 20 hours on a single beat . Finding the right sound and melody is where i spend most of the time , put everything together in the playlist and make some dope drum is also a long process .
Than i mix and master i can spend 2 -3 hours .I cant make a banger in 30 minute either so i know where you coming from . It dosnt matter imo how much time it take you to make a beat if the end result is dope .

Yeah pretty similar here.

Sketches take 30-45 minutes, but finished beats are gonna take 10+ hrs. And that's probably gonna stretch over a couple weeks because I like to work on a few sketches at a time. I get bored sitting with one track everyday so I like to mix it up, I'll work on 6 arrangements at a time.

Turning a nice loop into a full arrangement is hard brehs.

I generally take about 45 minutes to come up with the core of the beat! Then I'll start working on the drum sound and pattern that I'm going for over the track! Once that's done, I'd say I just start to blend everything together and it'll typically take me about a full hour to come out with a finished product!

i never finish a track in 1 or 2 hours.
Making a full beat takes me about 24 hours to finish in 1 week
