How long did it take before you started typing out smileys instead of selecting them?

I just looked at the list just now to make sure there wasn't anything new added, but I seriously can't remember the last time I actually looked at it to select the smiley I wanted.

I ain't even gonna front, I was kinda forced to learn quickly cuz when I first discovered I used to post from time to time from the PS3 and PSP. So I had to concentrate on making it work, like, " What's the call for that krs smiley again?"

And I always appreciated the announcement threads for new smileys, as well
