I hear this.Probably forever.
If I was put in a situation where no internet existed, it would suck, but I would get used to it.
I was in DR in areas with no internet. And in places where you still had to use an out house to use the bathroom....or shower with an oil drum filled with water in a shed.
This idea that "I can't live without (anything that isn't a necessity)" is so overblown.
Really? People can't live without cell phones? Or tv? or Internet?
Your parents/grandparents/great grandparents seemed to do just fine.
I think Dave Chappelle lives on a farm. Though I'm not sure what it's like or what amenities he has.I hear this.
I haven't watched or owned a TV for almost 6 years.
and now that I think about it...14 years of my life was spent without the internet, of course, I was young then and so was the internet.
My dream is to live in a secluded farm house miles from everything and just not have anything other than myself. No phone, no computer, no tv, nothing...just to see how much of a distraction those really are.

this is weird as fukk bro..
u dont watch sports or movies or nothing with other people
My roommate has a TV in the living room of our apartment. We just watch netflix and use the youtube app on his PS3 to watch youtube vids on the tv (which comes out in great quality). We don't have cable and most of the time I'm busy anyways so I'm not watching it the majority of the time.
Personally, I just don't care for it. I used to watch TV all the time until I just got bored with it and stopped watching it altogether. I was a media and professional communications major at the time and I used to take many media analysis type classes. I couldn't help but take in the information that I was receiving during those classes and see that first hand on TV. I just decided I couldn't relate to 95% of the entertainment that was on television and threw it in the bushes.
It was definitely the most beneficial thing I've done in my life. It made me realize how much time television consumed in my life and I was able to get more in touch with my thoughts, dreams, aspirations, and myself. I exercised more. I read more books. I went outside more and interacted with people. It's nothing more than a distraction to me.
Now that I removed myself from a town and community atmosphere where people looked at me like a freak for not doing what they were doing (watching TV, being into sports, etc) and I'm somewhere else now where it's less "group mentality" focused, I realized just how utterly unimportant and unappealing TV is to me.
