Basically, this. If they're going to have scripted promos be the order of the day, WWE needs to hire a legit acting coach to work with the talent as they're in developmental.

I'm pretty sure they do have acting coaches at the PC.

I'm not sure if they actually have them on "set" while filming shows though. That would probably be a good look for them. Only videos I've ever seen had the talent working with road agents and shyt. I'm not sure how practical that would be for the WWE though.

Hollywood recently got exposed a little bit when that story of the Han Solo actor needing a coach got out. The truth is that coaches are commonly on movie sets (Although, needing to pull one in so late *was* awkward).

This in itself is pretty wild, if you think about it. Donald had to:

write and act in his own Golden Globe winning show.

work on Community and 30 Rock.

put out an hour of stand-up

and have a pretty popping music career.

to be popular enough to play the sidekick in this movie.

And this White boy can't act period? :mjpls:

Insane :why:

The thing is is that they're 'good' promos by WWE's standards the same way Michael Cole is a 'good' announcer. It's not about evoking emotion or making sense, it's about remembering the lines from the script. Roman Reigns has been made fun of going on three years for saying "sufferin' succotash son" I'm sure when he went backstage Vince gave him a hug and told him good job. Braun Strowman got in trouble for saying "title shot" instead of "championship opportunity" or whatever McMahanism approved word. We got a 70+ cranky old man scripting these guys who can't decide if kayfabe is dead or not and who's ashamed of being in wrestling calling it anything but wrestling while being one biggest marks in wrestling.
After he bought WCW, Ted Turner called me and said, "Guess what, Vince, I'm in the 'rasslin' business!" and I said, "That's nice, Ted, I'm in the sports entertainment business".

I don't blame most of the talent for their shyt promos. Legends like Austin and Billy Graham have said they wouldn't have gotten over if they had to use scripted promos and every time fans meet some of these guys they talk about the charisma and magnetic personalities they have in real life that they lack on television. It's because of the scripted promos and Vince.
