I'm watching Raw and I'm realizing this new generation has absolutely garbage forgettable themes

With the exception of people like Edge, Styles, KO there aren't really many that are "iconic"

Back in the day a really good theme added to the overall persona and mystique of a wrestler

Theres nothing like that glass breaking for Stone Cold or "If ya smell" for the Rock

Theres nothing like the "Are you ready" for DX that made you lose your shyt

Big Es theme is so trash. It's a watered down generic trap song

Most of superstars today either have some generic trap song/beat or just random generic hard guitar riffs.

Wheres the Gong and the lights go out and that ominous Undertaker theme?

The closest thing was Aleister Black and now look..

Imagine the Glass Shattering and you hearing some CFO$ shyt right after :laff:

But like the person before me said, the generic themes for mostly non-existent characters. Jim Johnston was able to directly tailor a theme to fit a person. I knew exactly what to expect when hearing “I’m an Ass Man”, glass shattering, “IF YA SMELLLLL”, “It’s Sexual Baby (ooooooooh), Lil Kim’s laugh before the beat drops, and “I AINT THE LADY TO MESS WITH” hit. There’s a fraction of themes I can say the same about today. Mandy’s old theme and Lana’s stand out. AJ Styles, and some others, but a lot of recent themes just blend in like background noise.

Yea but it's like even if they're generic personalities why not try to go all out and atleast make a fire theme?

Kinda important I can't think of a top star that didn't have a memorable one

When you have the gimmick and the right theme working at the same time it's a whole different feel. Like Punk when he switched to Cult or Orton with Voices, Cena too. There's a main eventer vibe The Time Is Now has that Basic Thugonomics doesn't, you can just tell he's The Franchise, Big Match John etc the trumpets let you know

After a while wrestlers kinda become their themes so it's important and there has to be notes or memorable tune in it so even casuals know who's coming out, Jim already gave the blueprint for this with Rock/Austin/Lesnar, all remixes are identifiable with the original.

Lashley is the name I think off top who's a big star and his theme fails him. Jim had laced him up just like the other greats but since he's been back all his themes have been subpar loops. He just sounds like another guy coming out with the last 2 vs the first 3 Jim made

The main event last night really made me.think of this

Big E came and you can barely hear his theme at all. It just sounded like a terrible tik tok mumble trap song and Lashleys sounds like such an overproduced generic song...which does fit his personality

And Rollins is just random guitar riffs with no real rhythm at all
