How important do you think 18- 25 is for young men?

I was scrolling social media and heard a clip talking about how 18 - 25 are critical years in a young man's life. It was interesting to hear because this logic is something I started to appreciate as I have gotten older. The rational is those years will set the tone for their 30s and eventually the rest of their lives. There are always exceptions, but I see this on a regular.

• Young people who don't take those years seriously tend to work dead end jobs in their late 20's and 30s and it doesn't change as time goes on. In addition, their confidence eventually decreases on doing what they really want to do.
• Meanwhile, young people who get a degree, certification, training, and/or start a business early tend to be more financially stable and also have families.

This is just my assessment. What are your thoughts? Are the ages between 18 - 25 critically important?

I would just say those years, don't play it safe. Explore. Try new shyt. Fail at some shyt. Decide ultimately who you want to be. You don't have to be that at those years, but figure out who you want to be.

was always instilled that this time period should be a foundation for your 30s, so far I’ve treated it as such.

You don’t get really tired at that age. You should be studying and working like a dog.

I’m 22 years old….and I think now more than ever your 20s are the most important years to set yourself up fosho.

I just got accepted to an X-ray program at my college. By the time I’m done I’ll be 24 and on my way to making money and eventually move up to another modality that will pay more, all before the age of 30. Meanwhile a brotha my same age who’s bullshytting and not doing anything of note to improve his life will end up lagging behind.

With the increasing cost of living you can’t play in your 20s anymore, it sucks ass but it is what it is.

That was me. Graduated college in 2007. Wasn't until I was 30 I hit my stride.

Important. A person can make a lot of critical mistakes at that age. The mistakes will set them back for life and they won't have the life experience to know to resolve the mistakes at that time.

And there's just so much freedom young people have at that time that you don't really get back, like even if you don't have responsibilities like that in your late 20s - mid 30s, the sense of freedom is just not the same.

I kinda think its before that... you should have an idea of what success and good work habits/support systems look like before leaving high school

my 18-25 was ASS but the only thing that really let me bounce back was knowing that my environment was never going to give me a pathway forward. if i didn't cut losses and join the military at 25 or so, i'd be fukked

im starting to believe a lot of people just don't even have a reference point for what can work for themselves at all.
