How Does Separation Of "Church & State" Exist When Religion Is In Politics?

Really, how does that make sense? They always talk about a desperation of "Church & State". However, it's a driving force in politics In mostly every election there's always people pandering to the religious block I respect all religions and think there's some truth in them. However, how can you on one hand talk about separation of "Church & State", then make religion a focal point in government? Just look at the I raise my hand to God part when going in the court room

Some things are just hypocritical man.

I really don't get it though. I'm not trying to be offensive, but that always seemed hypocritical to me.

I do too breh. Do I think we should reach out to the religious block? Yes. However, we should have EVERYONE have a say.
