Drake should start getting NY back. Do you think they’d embrace him?

two things can be true.

1. he will continue to do streaming numbers.. his back catalogue his solidified, he's literally one of the biggest pop stars in the world.. he clearly has a fanbase that will stick by him, he eventually will find himself another bop.. i think even the most hardcore kendrick fans can appreciate that drake is a hit maker ..

2. his reputation has undoubtedly taken a hit.. it's definitely not as cool now to be a drake fan as it was say 5-10 years ago.. but in 10 years.. like someone said, he'll be ja rule statused where we will all sit back and appreciate his hits.. but he won't be beloved/respected by the masses like say.. nas, jigga, pac, biggie.. even kanye.. wayne..

There probably was a time in drakes career where he could've been that upper echelon level of artist... but this battle has taken him a few notches down on that metric.

no hate.. just sayin' it how i see it.

I will start blackin' over here like it's segregation
I will fukkin' double-cross you nikkas like it's meditation
I'll give you a hard pill to swallow, this your medication
I will fukkin' pop up on your ass like a revelation
I could tell you better than I show you, this a demonstration
I will fukkin' leave you in the dirt like some vegetation
Chemicals is mixin' in my brain and killin' hesitation

I'll fukkin' find out wherever y'all are celebratin'
Pull up, park my Phantom on the curb like I'm Larry David
And then we'll see who's really crazy

Idk what he does but I'm not trying to hear the above shyt out of him again

No buttons got pushed and you didn't pull up on The Pop Up show's curb Aubrey you weren't even Cali Aubrey

I think he’s in trouble. The Ja Rule vibes are clearly there. Now the landscape of music is different now then back then. If streaming was around then Ja woulda continued doing numbers cause he had a lot of great songs that would continue getting streamed for summer cookout playlists. I’m talking about going foward I think he’s in trouble. This isn’t just a L from the standpoint of getting out bar’d. ( It’s debatable if he even got out bar’d) Firstly this is a cultural L. The angles Kendrick took are ringing loud in the culture and that’s undeniable. This is more than a hip hop heads L. At the present moment I think its about to become uncool to bump Drakes music. Ja didn’t stop making good music but it was uncool to listen to him. I understand the Sexxy Red track was bad but bad music didn’t stop his songs from being huge before. That’s was the first sign of cracks in the empire. Only time will tell but this feels like Ja Rule ish

I’m not sure how recovers but the first thing he has to do is step away and hope it blows over. Releasing music now is a mistake in my opinion

His career isn't over, but he'll never be the biggest rapper in the game again. He's taken a massive hit, and he's 37 in a young man's game. LA and Atlanta won't help him, and that pdf file label is going to follow him wherever he goes.

He'll still make hits, but nothing on the level of Hotline Bling or God's Plan because he's not cool anymore. He's like an Eminem or Post Malone now; only popular with the whites. Even before the battle is fanbase had gradually shifted from predominantly female to mostly male (and incel).
