two things can be true.

1. he will continue to do streaming numbers.. his back catalogue his solidified, he's literally one of the biggest pop stars in the world.. he clearly has a fanbase that will stick by him, he eventually will find himself another bop.. i think even the most hardcore kendrick fans can appreciate that drake is a hit maker ..

2. his reputation has undoubtedly taken a hit.. it's definitely not as cool now to be a drake fan as it was say 5-10 years ago.. but in 10 years.. like someone said, he'll be ja rule statused where we will all sit back and appreciate his hits.. but he won't be beloved/respected by the masses like say.. nas, jigga, pac, biggie.. even kanye.. wayne..

There probably was a time in drakes career where he could've been that upper echelon level of artist... but this battle has taken him a few notches down on that metric.

no hate.. just sayin' it how i see it.
This and quiet as kept, ever since the ghostwriting shyt came to light he lost that level of respect and admiration from the OGs to even be considered an upper echelon level artist in hip hop. It's just that he literally got bigger as an artist after the Meek shyt so the public let it slide, Kendrick got that sweet spot of being just as big as him but also has the respect from the vets in the game to where he can call him out and it'd do major damage.

Not cool to who anymore?

Drake was always Drake. He was never thought of as cool

Over the last five years his fanbase has gradually went from mostly female to mostly male (and incel). Because the lyrics has gotten more and more bitter about women, not to mention him taking sides against big female artists like Meg and Rhianna.

The same way he recovered after Pusha "ended him" in 2018.

When you're competing against someone that doesn't release high volumes of music, it's easy to fill the vacuum that they leave with their inevitable absence.

Recovering after Pusha beat him was easy. He just had to take a few IG pics with Adonis and the label of deadbeat dad went away.

How do you fight the label of a pdf file? Or at the very least, a creep?

He needs to let Lupe carry him. Drake should mention how Kendrick has been ducking Lupe. It will get the negative attention away from him.
